Martin Luther King Village

Martin Luther King Village was developed on the site of the historic Martin Luther King Hospital at 2525 Euclid. The hospital was originally converted to 108 apartments for seniors in 1991. The Department worked in partnership with Hughes Development to completely rehabilitate the site in 2009 and bring supportive services to residents. Financing was provided by the Missouri Housing Development Commission, National Equity Fund, and Sugar Creek Realty.

Martin Luther King Village is the premiere senior living apartment complex in central Kansas City that offers services many seniors need to remain independent, healthy and safe. Amenities added during redevelopment include secured parking and a community space with exercise facilities, medical exam room, computer center, library, recreation room, and beauty shop. A full-time Resident Services Coordinator is now on site to organize services activities for residents. Rental assistance is available for qualified applicants.
